Te Puna Quarry

We went for a nice walk through Tepuna Quarry. We got to see tui's,butterfly's, sculptures, carvings, machinery, cactis and pine trees! There was a nice view of Mt Maunganui too! My favourite thing to see was all different types of sculptures. 

Communication book

I've helped look for pictures and stick them in our food communication book. It's looking good so far and it's going to help non verbal people to communicate in their cooking sessions.

Money course

I went to the CAP money course to learn about money, how to budget and some special skills. There was lots to learn. 

Going to the beach

I went to explore all the different shells at the mount beach. Their were lots of different ones to collect. I even found a closed shell with sea water in it!  It was nice to see the coast line and smell the sea air.

Circus tricks

I got to try some tricks with the circus in a flash. I was pretty good at the flower sticks and the juggling! It was lots of fun.

Splashing and relaxing

I went for a nice relaxing hot pool out at Oropi. It was fun playing with the balls and the water was nice and warm! I look forward to going back next time.

American Hotdogs

In cooking this week we made American Hot Dogs. We fried onions, cooked sausages and cut our bread then added some yummy sauce and mustard.

Wetlands and estuaries

I helped to do abit of research to help the team make this awesome fact board about Estuaries and wetlands in n.z! 

Highland Games

I had fun joining in 😃 the first Highland Games! 😁 I did the egg and spoon race and played on the volleyball and bowling teams. I even had a go at Highland Dancing! 😊

Communications

I helped to update our ingredients book that we use our cooking session,to help people communicate what ingredients they like like to have in their food! 

Art Gallery.

I got to meet my goal of going to the art gallery in Tauranga! We saw a display about children's fashion! 

Making healthy wraps

Today we made wraps learning what healthy ingredients to use and it’s easy to cook at home too.

Netball and frisbee!

Today we played netball 4 versus 4! I played frisbee and had a great arm. It was really fun and a beautiful day!

Tect helicopter

I had lots to look at when I went for a visit at Tect helicopter. I looked at all the equipment they use in a rescue. Check me out!

Highland game practice

I had fun joining in the relays to practice for our Highland games. I liked aiming at the target practice !

Balloon volleyball

I had a fun time playing balloon volleyball with the sports group on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.

Katikati museum

I had so much going to Katikati museum. We churned our own butter and made some yummy scones to put it on. There was so much to see and we even got to dress up like they use to back in the day. Check me out!

Sapphire springs

I enjoyed going out to Sapphire springs and having a swim and lunch with my friends.

Musicals

I had a great time singing songs to famous musicals in music, sing and dance this week. We had songs from Mamma Mia, The Sound of Music, Les Miserables and the Jungle Book.

Tree-ty

Check out our hand art! We are going to use them to make a big piece of art - they will be leaves of a tree. We are working together in our advocate meetings to create a "Tree-ty" - an agreement between us all on how to treat each other and the centre. I helped look up meanings of the word Treaty on the iPad and told everyone.

I like coming to Arohanui to see my friends and give them a challenge at uno.
