Fishing

 It was fun going out fishing on the Salisbury wharf. We caught a fish but it was too small so we threw it back into the ocean! I enjoyed my morning out in the fresh salty air. 

Centre shopping

 I enjoyed helping to find items on our list for the centre shopping this week. I was careful of other people when I was pushing the trolley around and then I put all the items up in a pile for the check out lady to scan. 

Feeding the ducks!

 I enjoyed going with my friends to feed the ducks some weetbix. I crumbled it up in my hands and sprinkled it around for the seagulls and ducks. We saw a cute little duckling paddling in the water. Then I couldn’t resist a play on the swing before we left. 

Basketball at Gate pa

 I liked dribbling the ball before taking a shot at the hoop in sports this week. We did a special warm up of bouncing the ball twice and the passing it to the person behind us. 

Drama

 This week I thought I would give drama ago to see if I liked it. It was so much fun! I liked dancing the stage to the music and playing the hat game with hats and the king game that Kim did with us.

Greerton Library

 I enjoyed a trip to Greerton Library. I found lots of cool magazines to read and sat on a seat by the window to look through them.

Birthday celebrations

 I enjoyed getting back to the centre to see my friends after going away with family to celebrate my birthday. At lunch everyone sung me happy birthday and I got a yummy chocolate cake and card. 

Sports

I enjoyed playing different games in sports this week. There was one called stand up knock down. I had to work with my team to stand up the cones while the other team tried to knock them down. I had to be as quick as I could. I had fun throwing the frisbee ball to each other too. 

Riddles and rhymes quiz and games

 I had a great friendship morning working with my team to come up with the answers for the riddles and rhymes quiz. Afterwards I played a board game with my friends. I love the minions trouble game

Fun friendship and games

 I had lots of fun playing different games with my friends on friendship day! I loved playing this minions trouble game. Siren bob made me laugh!!!

Valentine crafts

 I enjoyed Finishing to make these flowers. I used the tape to hold them together. They are going to go into bunches that we can give to people. 

Sustainable bags

 I enjoyed getting creative and made a template to create a sustainable bag. We re going to do things we can at the centre that’s better for our environment. 

Art gallery

 I had a great time going to see the Tauranga Art Gallery. There was a giant golden water feature in the middle of the room and next door they had things about the arena boat disaster which I remember happening 10 years ago! I’m looking forward to going back soon to see the new exhibition. 

Community Outings

I had a nice quiet morning at the Greerton library, I had time to finish my big chapter book. It is great to be back working out at Next Step Gym. We had the upstairs room to ourselves and Casey took us for a workout class. 

Bingo

 It was fun playing a few games of bingo with my friends. I listened for the numbers carefully and called out “Bingo” when my page was filled up. 

2022

 Happy new year! It’s great to be back at the centre to see all my friends. We sat down to plan our cooking sessions. I helped to pick what fruit we are going to put on the fruit kebabs for next week. And we talked abit about hygiene in the kitchen. I coloured in this picture for my personal cooking page.

Building a boat

 This week I put together an electronic project kit. I made a car and a boat. I had to follow the Manual and connect the right wires and pieces together to make the motor go. I put my boat in the sink and watched it zoom around!
